Hi Mel,

It is worth trying to negotiate a frequent use deal. We do about 7 visits pa and have got prices of about £8.60 per day low season, 12.21 per day mid season and 13.80 per day high season...

Called him yesterday - found him to be at least 50% more expensive than many others I have tried! Atlas, Reservacar and Auto-Europe all are very reasonable and include Spain travel.

For golf clubs try the outlets in Almancil, the other side of Faro. There are a couple of large discount stores such as American Golf.

If you take the motorway to the main Almancil turn off...

I agree with the club not giving deals to residents. If you are buying from Fadesa you are entitled to a 30% reduction in the club joining fees. Once a member you pay 700 € pa maintenance...

I spoke to someone who played it and said it should never have been opened. The first 9 in particular were in a dreadful state and it will be many months before it settles down.

49 is correct. He had his handicap cut from 23 to 14 on the day! They don't mess about in Spain.

Don't know if they hire clubs but the pro shop was being fitted out with racking etc 3 weeks ago...
