OP asked if it was difficult to get a job as an immigrant. The answer is no. Being an immigrant with permanent residency is not a barrier to employment in Canada.

I agree with BananaMonarchy. You’re Canadian and entitled to social assistance, however, your husband is working o you may not be eligible. You’d have to apply for your social insurance number...
