Should be no issue sending it to your friends address they only ask for an address in Canada to send to, when I did the landing I provided them a UPS PO box address then had it shipped it over to me.

Interesting, I just checked and it still says 6 months so im wondering if they extended it due to covid with all the travel restrictions chaos etc.
