Heed the advice from chesterton_fan. And, don't forget signatory authorities on foreign accounts. I would consider getting rid of PFICs and trusts wherever possible as the fees for tax preparation...

I believe the UK/US totalization agreement allow you to credit the missing years to qualify for state pensions in both countries, but not to increase the pension amounts in the respective country...
