the thing is that the shop keeper has an extremely limited market for 10 months of the year and makes nothing until July & Aug.

maybe.

never mentioned at our meetings that I have been at and never seen anything minuted on it. So perhaps it is just a 'given' and only when a problem arises will it become an issue?

Not a case of paying twice. You are exactly the type of person that any broker with a modicom of intelligence would suss out straight away and wave goodbye to. brokers are not free advisory services....
