Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

Exactly, US Citizenship services are currently suspended so there’s no possibility of simply getting a passport right now. They will take emergency appointments though so I’ll see what they can do...

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

Thank you for your reply, I’ve looked up the laws granting automatic citizenship at birth and I falsely believed my daughter wasn’t included. Slightly complicates getting back but we have a...

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

My daughter’s American citizenship hasn’t been established yet so she’s only a British citizen right now, thus she’s eligible for an ESTA. I’m thankful for your advice but I wasn’t looking for an...

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

I really appreciate your view but I’d feel safer living on our rural family property in the US then in our city right now. There are also other circumstances why I want to go over, I’m just asking to...

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

I should probably clarify that my I-130 petition has only just been approved so I can visit the USA with the ESTA. As I explained, my daughter’s US citizenship has not been established yet due to the...

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

Wondering if anyone can clarify whether my newborn daughter and I can enter the USA from London. We're both UKCs but my husband and son (7y) are both USCs and about to travel back without us. I'm...

Re: DCF London Processing

The petition timeframe is 90 days but ours has been approved in about 60 days since filing. I'm wondering about the number of weeks until the Embassy gets in touch about the next steps.

Re: DCF London Processing

The I-130 approval letter we just got through the mail said the Embassy would be in touch within 5 weeks, instead of the 8 weeks that's usually quoted. Can we read into this? 5 weeks would be 17 June...

Re: DCF London Processing

There's the DS-260 application form which is the main component, plus the required supporting documents which are listed on the embassy website. I've linked the page below! These include the police...

Re: DCF London Processing

Just as os306 says, plus I have most of the paperwork ready to go for the interview so it'll be a case of getting an appointment for both the medical and interview. Hard to tell how far out those...

Re: DCF London Processing

Good news everyone! My I-130 petition was approved by the USCIS office in London in May 13th. We filed on March 4th and they are advising that the consulate will reach out within five weeks about the...

Re: Lifestyle Differences UK vs Charlotte, NC

Lived in and around Charlotte for four years while in college. My husband is also born and raised in the greater metro area and all of his family live in Meck. Co. and Union Co.

I felt safe in...

Re: 17, looking to move to the US asap.

Do your parents have funds to the tune of at least 75k in the bank/assets, ready to show an immigration officer? You can work on campus but it’s highly regulated, you don’t get to choose your job a...

Re: 17, looking to move to the US asap.

I studied on an F1 visa at a private four-year college, graduated a couple of years ago, but I am also married to an American who pursued his own degree through a community college. Community...

Re: DCF London March 2020 (amid Covid19 pandemic)

Yes I saw that they were still aiming for 90 days and that was announced after the pandemic shut down the Embassy's regular services so I really hope things are moving along.

My understanding was...

Re: DCF London March 2020 (amid Covid19 pandemic)

Seeing this a little late but that is exactly the tracking information I got from Royal Mail when I sent our petition Guaranteed Next Day Delivery. I called Royal Mail and they said it was definitely...

Re: Immigrant Visa (DCF: I-130 Filed in UK) - TIMELINE ONLY!

I've applied recently too so hopefully our timelines can help determine how things are progressing now that USCIS are no longer updating their processing times. I've seen conflicting messages about...
