of course with "enhanced delivery" that was actually £54. Then to get that translated. I dont think i need to get that legalised though right?!

The process is so unclear its frustrating. I just purchased a criminal record certificate (£45). Think THIS is what they need.

You mean via gov.uk? The translayte guys suggested their service is what Portugal need? I am British and it's a British birth certificate.

Sorry to be clear, translated then legalised. So legalisation of the translations which is what I have assumed to be a basic requirement for Portuguese systems to work

Get it translated AND legalised at the same place. Have found a few places that do it. But they are pricey and if anyone has any personal recommendations I would take those. For example...

Thank you! That looks like the ticket. I have ordered another birth certificate as I am sure they will want one no older than 6 months then will go through that process you linked. So far, so good...

no problem - I managed with the Portuguese. My Portuguese is ok conversationally but quickly spirals when legal speak happens!

I may as well kiss any prospect goodbye if this involves the Portuguese consulate in London (which I perceive it to do) - they are awful (as my mother has attested to many times). I cant book online...
