Re: Police checks, is that it?

I thought the wording was very strange on mine. Something along the lines of "We can't find any record of the person based on the details you have provided".

Didn't sound very reassuring but the...

Re: Argh! Case Officer on a long vacation - what to do?

As others have said, call DIMIA to get a definitive answer.

Re: April 13th Application - References Checked Up Yesterday!!!!

It certainly is a big relief.

I would try not to worry about your references to much. It's not your fault that the company has gone under. There must be ways of proving, via company house, that...

Re: April 13th Application - References Checked Up Yesterday!!!!

According to my HR manager they wanted to confirm job title, duties, dates of employment, etc.

From what I've heard previously they don't always check references, they only check some at random.

Re: Any April 136 skilled independent none modl, got med request.

Even the MArch applications have gone quiet. I thought there would be a flood of "Got It's" after they had all been assigned.

Re: Doctor confusing me - who sends the meds off?

I have to same I'm exactly the same. I know it sounds petty but it's very hard to be pleased for all the people in Sept/Oct getting their visas while others have been waiting nigh on a year.

Re: Should we book flights or not?

Some airlines offer tickets which allow a bit of flexability with your dates once you're booked. These however, are usually more expensive that fixed-date flights.
