Thanks, BritishExpats for the advice - green card being printed after 2.4 years!

Thanks to those who offered advice, I see on the USCIS website they have today approved it and the card is being printed and mailed.... hopefully just a few more days/weeks to wait!

Re: Maintaining a UK mobile number while in the US long term

Thanks kindly all - having contacted them, they're giving me two months grace period which alleviates the urgency. They will be contacting me to ask me for proof that I am resident in the UK though,...

Re: Maintaining a UK mobile number while in the US long term

A trusted UK person with a burner phone is definitely a backup option (thanks for the suggestion) but I was really enjoying the fact I didn't need to pay for a US phone (which are extortionate in...

Re: Maintaining a UK mobile number while in the US long term

Unfortunately using the phone in any way in the US (text, voice, data) does not reset anything. Their contract states after two months they will cut off service, and I must use the phone in the UK...

Re: Maintaining a UK mobile number while in the US long term

Yes, I think it's a new thing (and pretty concerning) - it says "Above the limit of two months" however I have been here for seven months, I think they were not previously checking, and now have...

Yes, that's what I was hoping. However they texted me yesterday to say as I had spent more than two months outside the UK, they were cutting off my service in 14 days unless I return to the UK. I...

Re: A big thank you - progress - and a new question

Also another clarification please (and thank you in advance)... when you say "You can try to use the VWP while you have a K-1 visa. It will be up to the POE agent how you will be admitted, so be...

Re: A big thank you - progress - and a new question

Thank you again! Sadly not the news I was looking for, but it's much appreciated.

Re: Recommendation Wanted: Immigration attorney (for phone appointment only at this s

It is certainly starting to seem like we need to be very flexible. The plan you put forward certainly seems like the safest of all options - as with everyone else commenting, thanks so much for your...

Re: Recommendation Wanted: Immigration attorney (for phone appointment only at this s

LOL - sorry no offence intended, it's a term of endearment that has snuck into my vocabulary this last year ;)

Re: Recommendation Wanted: Immigration attorney (for phone appointment only at this s

Thanks Rete, very helpful!

I maybe wasn't clear about our timings for living in the post above. The ideal scenario (from the point of view of my wifes career) would be for us to marry next year,...

Re: Recommendation Wanted: Immigration attorney (for phone appointment only at this s

Thank you - and no I have no intention to stay in the US immediately if we marry while I'm there under VWP, I would leave within a week and start CR-1 process immediately. And yes, a variation of...

Re: Advice Wanted: Choice of Marriage Visa

Thank you again! Is there anywhere to get official stats on visa wait times? Or is that just based off word-of-mouth experience?

Re: Advice Wanted: Choice of Marriage Visa

Thank you, Rete. It sounds like entering and marrying on the VWP is a problem *only* if you intended to stay beyond the 90 days and file immediately?

Am I right in thinking that it's permissible...

Re: Advice Wanted: Choice of Marriage Visa

Thank you for your quick reply! Can I ask what is potentially a stupid question - if it's possible for me, from the UK, to marry in the US on a VWP - why would I even bother with getting a K1 Visa?...
