It makes no difference if he recieves it after his status expires that would probably happen in most cases just...

Don't forget that if the Receipt date comes back as over the 90days then you will be classed as an overstay.
Which meens DO NOT LEAVE THE US until you have the stamp in your passport.

I really feel for your friend especially as she went into overstay out of Status.
As she was a K1, I stand corrected but I believe that she cannot then adjust to another Visa ie H1 Work Visa etc....

I as some know have still not found a Bank that will let me open an account as I am waiting on my S/S number.(don't really need it just want one)
