Thats very true! I hadn't thught of that. The issue may be that my wife als works fr the same company and has exactly the same deal as me. I feel it may be a go back to the commune and talk to them...

His mother has an italian passport and he was born in Italy but we are all resident in the uk :(

Thanks for all the information.
The local Asilo(nido) is a subsidized one but i dont know of any local private ones :(
I will have a search but thank you very much for all the help so far :)

Our son has just turned one. He was born in the same prvince here in Italy so has a Carta di Identita.
