Hi,

I applied for an offshore LRR relative visa from London in December 2010 and was told the current wait is 12 months.

Now, whether that holds true is another matter, but thats what I have...

Well I applied for my offshore LRR visa in December 2010 and the waiting time is approx a year so not quite there yet!

Well your good thoughts must have paid off as we have received the request for 2nd Vac today!!! :D:D:D

The money is already sat in the account in Australia so will be transferring today/tomorrow....

The rates were at £1.76 today which saves £1,000 against DIAC's set rate so have decided to transfer our money to Oz now and, when requested, pay via Australia...

The question we are raising here is what is meant by "no strings attached" especially when one has either a boyfriend/girlfriend when getting the LRR visa - this is what needs to be clarified.

Thats interesting, I didnt know that, thanks.

I guess I am just frustrated that I cannot move to Oz to be with the rest of my family unless I end all relationships (no matter how long)...

I guess it depends on what they mean by "live" and how this compares with an extended holiday. For example they have just spent 6 months on holiday in Australia but I wouldnt consider that "living"...
