They want to pay him for the audition.... The audition entails 6 rehearsals plus a final concert, and then an interview after that. Does he have to refuse the money?

Wouldn't it be possible for him to work as a guest conductor? They often hire people from out of the country just for a few concerts.

Yes, but I guess those at yogi799.com are waiting for various types of work visas. I've applied through the Family Sponsorship, so presumably we won't have to wait as long...

Thanks, Ozinca. I guess there's nothing I can do but wait... I'm trying to be optimistic that our application will be speedily processed, but preparing for the worst!
