Default About Montreal

I have done extensive research regarding message boards about Montreal with no luck. I have looked at Yahoo groups, but they are either too specialized, or just plain porn.

Does anyone know of message boards or websites in English that discuss life in Montreal, for new immigrants?

Thank you in advance.

hi there, i'm in exactly the same situation as you... am moving to montreal in september and have trawled the web for any forums about the place, or just general info at all, but with very little success. perhaps we should start one, and get others to come out of the woodwork!!!

An Ex of mine (and still one of my closest friends) lives in Montreal. He emigrated over there in 1997 from England. I might be able to answer some questions for you if you like, as I know Montreal reasonably well.

Let's do it. I am planning on writing all details of my immigration and moving process, so other people can benefit from it.

I will go get a domain name right now, and then we can add a free message board to it.

Good things have to start somewhere.

I`ll try to dig in some of my files and help you guys here. I am working in Gatineau/Ottawa which is short of 2 hours drive to Montreal.

Most of the helpfull sites were in French.

French is OK, as I can read it very well. So I will be looking forward to your materials.

Thanks again,

Also, here are all the yahoo groups. You have to sort out through a lot of junk, before you can actually find any valuable info. However I thought it could be of help to somebody.

Think i've trawled through the yahoo groups, and unforunately it seems to be a porn portal for the montreal community!

Thw webshots address is a good one, thanks for that.

Regarding the montreal forum, i'ld join that! hopefully in a couple of months i can be answering questions instead of posting them!

I'd like to join the forum too! Haven't found anything on the web either, so how 'bout we all stick together and form something? I'm sure there are enough people immigrating to Montreal how could use it....

Also,

The famous Craig's List site recently has opened a Montreal branch. It's very poor so far, but I am sure it will grow, so worth checking it out.

Perhaps you should let it lie instead.

I'm probably going to visit friends in Montreal on the weekend of the 25th September.

I'll send your regards to the place....
