Matt, thanks for chiming in! These forums are always useful, yes the car was originally made for the UK market (in 1989!) and sold there in 1990. We purchased the car last year, from its third owner....

Thank you @Cyrian for your input. I'll leave health insurance for another day... as there's lots of info in the forums about that specifically.

Regarding Internet- in Galicia we currently rely on...

Sorry- didn't make that very clear, the offensive €30 charge from the Spanish Post Office is for a small parcel to the USA. That's the basic charge from the high street.

Its funny, I read that elsewhere but was told NFU do not offer European Cover for more than 30 days continuous anymore. Sad, as I like the NFU.

I've just spoken to the very helpful, sunny, and highly recommended "IBEX Insure" a company based in Gibraltar. They will insure PT and Spanish 'based' cars with either UK, Portuguese or Spanish...
