TL;DR: there is no minimum period for accommodation. Applicant doesn't have Right to Rent until they have the visa.

I have done a bit more targeted searching, and found a thread on this forum...

You definitely need to give details of your proposed accommodation. Appendix 1.7A (Adequate Maintenance and Accommodation)...

I will be training as a science teacher from September - my scholarship will allow me to meet the UK income requirement (though of course I do actually want to teach, it's not just to get the visa!)...
