To have a car or no car in KL

While recently in KL getting the visa we used Uber taxis/Grap taxis all the time and the MRT. It all worked very well and was very cheap! So I thought why buy a car...just hire when you want to go...

During our stay in KL we were walking through a large shopping mall in KL called the Pavilion and someone shouted our name....what we don't know anyone here!!An old colleague of Mr WM from Dubai...

Well all went well have visa and bank account set up went very smoothly. One tiny bit of advise....I got a local sim as soon as I arrived in KL and used this number in all the info you need to set up...

To round up some of the basics. If I have this right HSBC Premier 200,000 min balance 2.9 percent interest.

CIMB preferred status...

Thanks for all of the above. I informed by agent I wanted to go with CIMB the branch is even in the name road! "They only accept MM2H applicants who have already obtained the MM2H pass." Several MM2H...

Thanks for all your replies. Have descided to go with CIMB after a bit of research.
Can't seem to find online the rate given re the Fixed Depoist....but it doesn't matter as if on the day of opening...

Opening a Bank Account in Kuala Lumpur

Hi everyone I now have my approval for MM2H ...very happy. Have any of you got any recommendations for where to place FD and generally a good bank. I will be living in KL. Many thanks.

That one individual is little old me....it will be 8 months on the 10th! I repeat 8 months!

Ssoomro...I am still waiting at 6 and half months....just contacted JoyStay again and their office is closed until the 29th May! So decided to go and by loads of clothes...and go and have a 3 week...

Hello I am still awaiting approval after 4 months...Joystay says it is now a wait of 6 months. Hopefully will be approved soon. I know the new rules will not apply to this application .

I have now been waiting 4 months.....JoyStay have said it now takes 6 months....even with the drop of applicants. FIngers crossed it won't take that long!!

If we get approval we want to live in Kuala Lumpur....I have been a couple of times. I know we will be very happy to live in a city and then once we have bought a car or course we will go travelling...
