Re: Birth certificate query for interview

Ok thanks. I know the copy I have came from the GRO and is perfectly legitimate. I just hope the consulate officer won't mind that it's not the same certified copy (photocopy) I sent to the NVC a few...

Birth certificate query for interview

I just received an email from the NVC with my interview date today (in the first week of October), which was great news.

However, the wording of one part of the NVC email has worried me.

It...

Re: ACRO date/validity for the medical

Thanks! Yes I will post after I've had my medical. We are hoping our interview will be sometime in October but I guess it's hard to say for sure. I agree it may be a little fine if you need something...

Re: ACRO date/validity for the medical

You're a lifesaver! I was searching through the forum for exactly this. My ACRO certificate is dated mid January 2017 which means it'll probably be 8-9 months old by the time I go to my medical (we...

Does anyone have experience with the NVC reviewing additional documents?

Almost exactly 2 months after sending the documents package to the NVC, my wife and I received an email stating they needed additional documents in order to process my case. This was a little over 2...

Re: Birth/adoption certificate for NVC evidence and London embassy interview

I know it's been a while since I posted this, but to update: almost exactly 2 months after we sent all our documents to the NVC, my wife and I received an email stating we had items missing.

One...

Re: Who can be classified as a 'household member' with form i-864a?

Thanks Ian. From information gathered it looks like we will go down the joint sponsor route now.

Considering the evidence we need to collect is virtually the same and my uncle and wife don't...

Re: Who can be classified as a 'household member' with form i-864a?

Ok sounds straight forward enough. He's not self employed, he works at a high school.

If my wife still needs to submit her tax returns etc., does that mean her income will still be considered as...

Re: Who can be classified as a 'household member' with form i-864a?

Ok thanks. Would it matter that their place of residence is the same with the joint sponsor route?

If we pursue that option, am I right in thinking that the only evidence he would need to submit...

Who can be classified as a 'household member' with form i-864a?

Hello,

I recently submitted my DS-260 en route to (hopefully) joining my wife in California.

We always knew that her (the sponsor's) income alone wouldn't be high enough to sponsor me,...

Re: I-130 taking longer than hoped

Good news! We got our NOA2 yesterday (Monday 6th March). So happy to be moving on in the process – one step closer to joining my wife!

Re: I-130 taking longer than hoped

Thanks for your response, that sounds pretty familiar! We are only 3 weeks short of the 7 month mark but as far as I'm aware it hasn't been moved to another service centre.

Yeah, really hoping for...

Re: I-130 taking longer than hoped

Yeah it definitely seems very difficult, if not impossible, to get individual information on your case other than when they received it and when they finally process it.

I know there's very...

Re: I-130 taking longer than hoped

Yeah it is frustrating but we just have to wait and hope to hear some good news soon! I hope you guys don't have to wait too much longer also. Please do keep us updated.

As for the fee increases,...

Re: I-130 taking longer than hoped

That's interesting. Ours hasn't been moved from Nebraska as far as I'm aware. I hope we both receive a NOA soon.

Re: I-130 taking longer than hoped

Yes I meant to say my wife received the receipt notice in the mail shortly after we sent off the i-130 last August. Sorry, I forget how many different numbers there are for forms/notices etc.

I-130 taking longer than hoped

Hi there.

My wife and I sent off our I-130 a little over 6 months ago and have yet to hear anything back.

It's being filed at the service centre in Nebraska, which as of the end of December is...

Re: How long does it really take NVC to review documents?

Ok thanks for clearing that up. 5 months to the day since my wife submitted the I 130 so hopefully will be getting that NOA very soon!

Re: How long does it really take NVC to review documents?

Do you know if staff have already been recruited? Just saw that Trump suspended new hirings to all federal agencies and was wondering if this could possibly affect NVC processing times.

Re: Working towards joining my wife in California – an introduction

Yeah I've just started looking into the ACRO certificate and will probably send it off soon as the 5 months is almost up.

In terms of vaccinations I'm sure it'll be fairly simple to go and get...

Re: Working towards joining my wife in California – an introduction

Good advice. It's definitely easy to put the blinkers on in terms of the immigration process itself, when in reality there are so many other things that come with moving country. I'm sure there will...

Re: Working towards joining my wife in California – an introduction

Haha that's so true about time in general. I found that was the case for the whole of university – how quickly it went. Right now, 6 months or so seems like a long time when in reality I can remember...
