You can only go STNI if your job is on that region's *Skills in Demand* List. Our job is only on the *Skilled Occupations List* (SOL),so we can not go STNI but can go SIR.

SIR changes when to post application to get extra 10 points

Very pleased to hear of the extra 10 points being allocated to SIR visa applications from 1st July 2005. For us, this will mean we no longer need to lodge the $100,000 bond to obtain 110 points.

For SIR you must live and work in a regional area for 3 yrs. This is a temporary visa, but if you have fulfilled the living and working criteria you can apply for permanent residency(PR) after 2yrs....

Have been in touch with the ANMC again regarding this and they say the same thing - i.e. apply for registration with the State and only get an ANMC assessment done if necessary...

Capital Investment - selling house?

He's not actually an engineer. He has a degree in Quantity Surveying, initially worked as a QS, then moved into Estimating, but has experience in both building and civils as an Estimator.
