Victoria has a great scenic coastline, especially along the great ocean road,
Great beaches and good surf. The Grampian mountains national park, great bushwalking , spectacular scenery, Victoria has nice green countryside.
Snowy mountains in the east of the state, ski fields.

Cool Re: What you love about Victoria

Victoria is beautiful,

it has everything... great dining and social scene, fantastic beaches and exuberant bushland, lots of great short break destinations - which is what most people from europe complain about - holiday destinations being so pricey.

the weather is unpredictable i admit, however it keeps things changing and trust me hot weather all the time is overrated - theres nothing to look forward to....

I have lived in and around Victoria for most of my life and IMO is the best State in Australia (Yes, I have been to them all apart from Tassie )

Victoria is small enough that you can get to most places in comfortable travelling time from Melbourne. It has a hugely diverse country side from green and lush in the East to what I call real Aussie bushland. Its got some beautiful Mountain ranges and some of the most spectacular coastline in Australia. There is some of the nicest wine regions in Oz (Apart from Barossa and Hunter valleys of course), The Murray River is the Northern boarder and well worth the trip.

Unlike other posters, I dont find the weather here unpredictable at all!! I can easily predict that in one day, you are likely to get snow, rain, blazing sunshine and possibly some hail. So just always leave home with the brolly, sun screen, rain coat & ski's

I could go on and on about what I think makes Victoria the best State, but I would suggest you come and have a look for yourself. Its worth it...

We love the Great Ocean Road and the coastal scenery, Melbourne is a great city with so much to see and do, especially the variety of food available in restaurants. The Mornington Peninsula is a lovely area particulary the bay beaches for young children.

We also like the variety in weather here and like the fact that it isn't constantly hot - yet you still get days like today of temperatures in the 30's.

Aussies and Brits have rather different perceptions about what constitutes "small" (and hence "comfortable travelling time", as touched on in a recent thread).

For reference, Victoria is the same size as Great Britain. It's still the smallest mainland state though! (ACT isn't a state before anyone disagrees!)

He is actually gay, as is my boss. He doesn't think Melbourne is quite ready to step out of the 18th century yet and host such an event.
