Re: Auto insurance for new comers, any companies accepting UK experience?

I know this doesn't answer the question, but Alberta is one of the best provinces for auto insurance, it's by far the cheapest.

Re: Canadian citizen visiting the US under Trump, changing entry rules?

So, if you already have an I-94 even if it's issued behind the scenes, there is nothing for a Canadian to do, or fill out, even if one intends to stay longer than 30 days.

How about if you're...

Re: London to Vancouver 20 years later,

What sounds odd to me is that PR hasn't been revoked if you've been outside of Canada for such a long time. However if Immigration Canada tells you it's not revoked then it isn't.

What's also odd...

Re: PR card renewal

Is having spent time outside of Canada keeping you from applying for citizenship? After all, that's the only secure option.

Re: Alternatives for Skype

MSFT Teams is a good choice. However what I am looking for is a solution where I can call any number worldwide. SKYPE offered that, most other solutions don't. Or does anybody have any ideas?

Re: Is it difficult for immigrants to get jobs even in entry-level jobs in Ontar

If you're a Canadian citizen, you're not immigrating to Canada, you're simply moving back there. No real questions asked.

The problem you will find in Canada is the price / value / salary...

Re: Early Elections?

Ford isn't entirely without scandal and issues, and he hopes by calling an early election those things are sort of in the background, als long as Trump is doing his tariff thing the public's mind is...

Early Elections?

Calling early elections seem to be quite the trend in Canada.

During the pandemic Trudeau did it, at a high cost to the taxpayer and no real results, same number of seats as before.

Now Ford...

Re: Canada cut in PR Immigration by at least 20%

I wasn't aware of the skilled trade route. I am not up to date on this. It's been more than 20 years now that I came to Canada. Back then the yearly number for PR visas was around 300000.

Re: Toronto: Irish Embassy Pub & Grill

Thanks. Sorry I've missed that. It's probably again one of those condo developments, leaving the outer walls of the old building in tact and building a high rise right on top / into the middle of...

Toronto: Irish Embassy Pub & Grill

Just wondering, the Irish Embassy Pub & Grill in Toronto seems to have been closed ever since the pandemic. Or after the pandemic they never reopened. Just wondering is this only temporary? Or are...

Re: Moving from UK to Ireland - job prospects/house buying advice

Regarding the right of way on the deed, the thing is that conveyance is also a lot quicker in Ireland, compared to the UK. This means that not everything is checked upon the same way it would be in...

Re: Moving from UK to Ireland - job prospects/house buying advice

It would seem that you have a personal reason for moving to Ireland, and that is having a family there. This would be a big plus in terms of quality of life. Also you're looking for a country life,...

Re: Moving from UK to Ireland - job prospects/house buying advice

I often doubt that Ireland offers a better quality of life than the UK. I think this differs very much from a personal and career oriented point of view. Some things are better in the Republic of...

Re: Moving from UK to Ireland - job prospects/house buying advice

Depends on what you call a better quality of life.
There is a massive housing crisis in Ireland, especially if you're renting.
If you're looking for something rural and a big plot of land with a...

Re: Germany and the rise of the AfD, should we be worried?

If you ask me, from an economic perspective it's Germany which is the sick man of Europe, and Austria the little sick brother.

They've effecitvely destroyed or started to destroy their automotive...

Re: Air Canada strike?

I would presume one is better of not accepting any financial refunds of just the ticket price.
Yes one would get the money back, but one would have to pay more for a similar flight.
AC would have...

Just wondering, as a Canadian citizen, I was given the number 46 by one of the self service machines where one scanns the passport in and later gets the picture taken.
What does 46 stand for? 46...

Re: Air Canada strike?

I was guessing that.
I am travelling on the 12th, arriving on the 13th in Europe on an AC flight.
I hope I'll make it.
I think the union's demands are unreasonable.
