Re: Old Age Pension frozen?

Thank you all. Yes, I was referring to the state pension. My husband is 71 and in receipt of his plus an annuity and SERPS. I think I'm right in saying that the annuity is fixed and I was told the...

Re: Old Age Pension frozen?

It says on Citizens Information that Ireland has a Bilateral Social Security Agreement with the UK which is outside of the EU agreement (there are several other countries). Citizens from countries...

Re: medical card spouse entitlement

Thanks. Yes, will do. We've got family moving over there next month so there will be lots of long visits before we make any firm decision. Anne

Re: medical card spouse entitlement

No we wouldn't be moving there for the weather - I think that was my husband's weak attempt at a joke! Actually it has been very cold and wet all summer here though.

He looks at the weather every...

Re: medical card spouse entitlement

I'll print that list off and bear it in mind, thanks.

Very sorry if I offend any Limerick dwellers - I did only see parts of it. I've lived in lots of different places - Woolwich, Plumstead,...

Re: medical card spouse entitlement

We were over in Limerick January 2015 for a christening and from the limited bits we saw it looked like an absolute dump to be honest. My son spent 7 years there when he was younger and wouldn't...

Re: medical card spouse entitlement

Yes, I'm sure you're right and I am going to stop looking as it's pretty pointless without seeing the places.

Ashford is huge now, it just keeps expanding.

My son has chosen Galway for the...

Re: medical card spouse entitlement

It was just that it looked like what I would think of as a "proper town". Yes, we don't want to be too far away from our son as I would like to see the children a lot - I will miss them.

I see...

We are hoping to move from UK to the Galway area in the not too distant future. I've just been reading a thread about the protracted amount of time it can take to buy in Ireland which has really...

Re: medical card spouse entitlement

Thanks very much. I think if we work on the premise that Jeff will get the medical card and I won't until I'm 66 then anything we get for me will be bonus! Anne
