I think the issue is more that to register as a nurse in Aus you need to have the knowledge and experience in nursing patients in both paediatrics and adults, so did your nursing qualification...

Brighton/Hampton are ridiculously expensive, so depends on your budget, Williamstown might be better. Though Brighton/Hampton is great for cycling and beach going (without the surf), plus the schools...
