Public holidays are usually for one day, due to a religious ceremony or similar. The whole islands banks, post offices, supermarkets etc are closed. It does not effect the tourist industry at all.

Understood! I've lived here long enough to know how things work unlawfully! and i'm by no means scared to call out my boss. I'm just trying to figure out if the law is on my side. How things are done...

From my understanding a public holiday is a public holiday... if you are asked to work on a public holiday, you would imagine somewhere the law states you would be paid extra or have a day owed to...

Yes, my contract is official, in Spanish and registered with the ministry of employment.. I also doubt a contract in English is real either.

1) It does not refer to public holidays, it only stipulates specific working days and hours. The contract is permanent, indefinate.

So my boss told me that Spain's public holidays don't apply in touristic zones and i'm not entitled to those days off.

Ok, so All grandparents were born within Australia. So we will take the ss route no problem. By the time we apply I'm sure there won't be any issues.

Ok understood. Because the time difference in Australia at the moment her mum wont see the message we sent until later. Then we can confirm her grandparents birth locations. ill report back later....
