Re: Getting my head around renewals and ILR dates

Brit, what'm saying is that (unless it's changed) it makes no difference when you apply for FLR so long as it's at most 28 days before you have been in the UK for 2 1/2 years, because the 30 month...

Re: Getting my head around renewals and ILR dates

That's true, you can, although there would be no point doing it earlier than 28 days prior to having been in the UK, for obvious reasons.
Also, if you apply for FLR earlier than the actual end date...

Re: Getting my head around renewals and ILR dates

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm almost certain you can apply for Further Leave to Remain 30 days before you have been in the UK for 30 months/two and a half years, not 30 days before the visa...

English test for FLR

Hi there, just wondering if anyone had any experience with using old English tests for further leave to remain. I was lead to beleive that the FCE that my wife took back in Oct 2014 would be valid...

Re: English Test Outside of UK for Spouse Visa? Important Changes Immediate Effect!!!

And from googling it looks like how soon you can see your test results online depends on the test centre you took it at. That is effing ridiculous. One place said "You will not be able to see your...

Re: English Test Outside of UK for Spouse Visa? Important Changes Immediate Effect!!!

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/405631/selt_transitional.pdf

you need name, dofb and passport...

Re: Applying by post for FLR(M), extension of spousal visa

Michali, you might have already understood this but I've just noticed you only need three different sources for the correspondence, but with the correspondence spread out over the 2 and a half years....

According to this

Re: Applying by post for FLR(M), extension of spousal visa

Right, the passport thing makes sense. In a way it makes things simpler as there is direct evidence at the FLR stage of a subsisting marriage.

Are you going to be alright with the correspondence...

Re: Applying by post for FLR(M), extension of spousal visa

But why is it not asked for at the initial Entry Clearance stage, when no children's birth certificates are required and you only have to provide the photo page of the passport? If they are so...

Re: Applying by post for FLR(M), extension of spousal visa

Will be a long time for me too Michali but can I just ask, is it just me or there are even more things you have to provide than for the initial Entry Clearance even, like, "6 items of correspondence...

Re: Savings and 6 month rule

Sounds correct to me, and not only the day you apply but any day up until the last date of the last bank statement, which could be up to 28 days prior to that.

One possible problem is that IF...

Re: English Test Outside of UK for Spouse Visa? Important Changes Immediate Effect!!!

Sorry, should have clarified. I wasn't thinking only of Trinity and IELTS but also other tests, that were previously valid, and if you'd still be able to use their results for FLR and ILR even though...

Re: English Test Outside of UK for Spouse Visa? Important Changes Immediate Effect!!!

Thanks for the info. Is it right to think tests done and with Entry Clearance approved before 5th April will still be able to be used for FLR and ILR?

Re: UK Spouse Visa - Documentation Checklist

I don't think you need a PIR. The letter from your mum plus the Land Registry document is sufficient. I've done 2 spouse visas apps with that info(!) and got both of them.

It's funny though, when we got a spouse visa before when I was studying, I swear we applied in December. I remember going at the start of the school holidays...

Just a little update, we went to the VFS Global office and gave them our documents today and they seemed very keen on giving out advice, which I thought they weren't supposed to do. I didn't mind...
