Same boat here in the US, 2 weeks or a month unpaid/voluntary time off at the most. I think it varies on the work place/type of job in the UK.

Nothing complicated for us, thank goodness! We need to do it without any unnecessary cost. As we all know, selling the majority of stuff & starting over (again) is expensive enough! :D

Yeah, thanks! I'm hoping that's not going to be an issue. I'm earning more now, even with a cushy W@H job doing live chat, cust service. Only took the stress free job, to make it easier to do...

I didn't do the whole spouse visa coming to the USA. We were in love, naive and stupid. The dumb decisions we made resulted in a lawyer, fines and a lot of $. Lesson learned. :D

Thanks John! Getting a lawyer would be ideal, but dropping 5-6K is out of the question for us, lol. Maybe we should consider legal advice, but do the work ourselves?

Moved from the UK about 15 years ago, to marry a bloke from the USA. My Mum is now 75 and I've been wondering for past few years, if I'll regret not being closer. She refuses to leave Ol' Blightly....
