Returning to the UK each month for a day or two to satisfy an insurance company, isn't...

Re: UK house insurance - unoccupied for up to 5 months in a year

Re: UK house insurance - unoccupied for up to 5 months in a year

Thanks for this.

There is also the issue of Council Tax. My understanding is that there is no provision for paying it part of the year for only when the house is actually occupied. You have to...

UK house insurance - unoccupied for up to 5 months in a year

I hope in 2017 to live outside the UK for up to 5 months in a year. For 3 months and for 2 months later in the year. However, I want to keep my UK house in case of an emergency. I own the UK house....

Re: Historic moment: EU Referendum

Yes, but I wonder how many Spanish pensioners live in the UK. I would imagine that only a fraction of the number of our pensioners in Spain. This could mean that Spain feels under little obligation...

Re: Historic moment: EU Referendum

My own guess is this.

The visa requirements to leave and return to Spain for UK expats will be either non-existent, or very light post-Brexit. Because the Spanish government will not want their...

Re: Maximum time out of country on spouse visa

Here is that advice. I know that I also, on a forum, tried to pin down the experts there as to what this meant in practice. They gave their opinion that it meant that if you were away for 6 months...

Re: Maximum time out of country on spouse visa

OK, and I understand. But if you want, I can dig out the advice which is actually on the internet on this (that I printed out). As I say, this was also something my own spouse was concerned about...

Re: Maximum time out of country on spouse visa

This is my understanding:
The ECO guidance rules on the internet say that this time out of the UK is negotiable. There is no "fixed" time you can leave the UK under the spouse visa in a year. ...

Re: Paying for health care in Spain

I got it today from a UK immigration forum. Anyhow, so when I get my UK state pension at 65, do I get similar health care by length and type in Spain as I will presently get in the UK? Or perhaps...

Paying for health care in Spain

Although Spain is in the EU, I am advised that as of 2015, I would have to pay myself for at least part of the health care I would receive living in Spain. I am near to the UK state pension age of...

Re: Europe outside the EU

But as I may have already explained she has family commitments in Moldova, so it's not like she may need to go there temporarily regardless of the UK residency rules for citizenship. This is why I...

Re: Europe outside the EU

I'm a bit confused. She applies and gets, let's say, settlement, or the ILR visa. This is after 5 years (I meet the financial requirement).

In order to get ILR she does not have to obey the...
