Re: Would like to buy a property to rent as holiday let when relocate

Thanks for all of your replies, you've all been very helpful.
I knew that the fines had already started on the Canary Islands, so it comes as no surprise that it happens in Spain.

We're thinking...

Re: Would like to buy a property to rent as holiday let when relocate

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate that there would be many hoops to jump through, some of which might be expensive and time consuming, however, my question is where can I find prices of properties...

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

Thanks for your replies - again these are all things that we need to think about. I was speaking to my sister in law about it, and she said Tenerife has the weather we're looking for, and, unlike...

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

So another thing we'll need to consider are heating bills. We are looking to rent a 2 bedroom villa, is the cost of heating expensive in Spain?

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

Murcia seems to be a pretty big region Cricketman - are you saying that all of it is desert like in culture etc? I have to say, from looking at Bri and Katee's photos, the part where they are at...

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

Hmm... I think Almeria is off the list. Funnily enough I was thinking earlier that we don't want to be hours away from an airport, partly because no doubt my family will be thinking of 'free...

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

Hi NKing and thanks for that. My OH has been looking at Almeria, but to be honest, the more pointers we have from people the better, as we just don't know where to start and Spain is so big;...

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

The fact that Cartegena isn't a tourist resort does appeal in a way. Whilst we're not too bothered about living in an ex pat area, it would be nice to be near some Brits :-)
We're looking at...

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

Again, thanks for all your replies - you're a great help!

My OH was doing a bit of research earlier and we think inland Murcia will be a bit on the cold side for us. He briefly mentioned...

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

Thanks for your reply Missile. Another place which has been mentioned to us is Costa Brava, so we're going to have a look into that.

It's just difficult to know where to start looking because...

Re: Advice for relocating please, possibly Murcia

Hi and thanks for your replies, all of which have been really helpful.
Wherever we do decide to go, we'll definitely rent as we don't want to be tied down to a mortgage in case we need / want to...

My husband and I are considering relocating to Spain. We had previously thought of moving to Lanzarote, and we even met with a relocation adviser whilst out there recently, who said we could...

Re: Relocating to Lanzarote and renting advice please

Have any of you on here kept your properties in the UK? Keeping the main one (i.e. the one we rent out) would be an option I suppose, but we're not mortgage free and the rent doesn't cover the...

Re: Relocating to Lanzarote and renting advice please

Oh right I see!
It's all in the timing then.If there is an exemption for over 65's it won't apply as my husband is 53 and I'm 39.
Nothing's ever straightforward is it?

Re: Relocating to Lanzarote and renting advice please

Thanks Chopera, I'll take a look at that when I get chance.
This is one of many reasons as to why we'd rather rent than buy. I'm just familiar enough with their property laws!
