Re: Dogs

Yes, one pet per adult as far as I know. My daughter is on an adult ticket. My dog is a very small Jack Russell (smaller than the cat, to her disgust).

Re: Dogs

Success! I just managed to book flights with Lufthansa with my small dog and cat confirmed to travel in the cabin! We are going from Edinburgh, via Frankfurt, to Chicago. So if you can get on a...

Re: Immigration medical & self-harm

I would add, if you can, build in plenty of time between the medical and the visa interview. My husband spent a few days in a psychiatric hospital due to severe depression about 10 years ago, and...

Re: Dogs

I did some googling a few months ago and thought it looked like Lufthansa might take small ones in cabin out of the UK, but it was hard to be sure - I think those flights are operated by United. I...

Re: UK Based lawyer advice

I'm very sympathetic, here. We're working on a visa with a less than .5 g. of marijuana, so hoping for the waiver, but it could've easily been different. I think you should still consult a lawyer,...

Re: 10 months in!

Thanks for posting that!
I spend so much time trying to imagine what the big move is going to be like, what the first few weeks, months will be like, and wondering if I have the strength! Your post...

Re: Return of original docs?

Okay, panic over. Stand down. Just discovered how easy it is to get another marriage certificate.

Return of original docs?

Oh, lord.. I think I may have made a(nother) mistake.. Our documents are with NVC, and I've just realised I need my marriage certificate to do my son's report of birth (and subsequently, his US...

Re: NOA2 to packet 3 processing times?

There are some very knowledgeable people on here, not always with bed-side manner. But they get the details right, and can help cure your problems. Then there are some who are really nice (like...

Re: RFE for I864

We had an RFE right before xmas for the I-864. I was assuming they included all "concerns" on the first one - didn't know there could be more :(. Please no.

Re: I-601 Lawyer recommendation?

Thank you, Mr Folinsky. She has written an extremely helpful overview of I601s, on her website. Very grateful to you for pointing me in that direction - I may prepare it myself, after all.

Re: I-601 Lawyer recommendation?

Yes, with the form - I'm worried about wording it wrongly, or failing to say something important, or just generally mucking it up. Because if they say no at that point the only way forward is via...

Re: I-601 Lawyer recommendation?

My husband has a 24 year old possession of cannabis conviction - small amount, appears to fit the waiver criteria, but obviously I don't want to make any mistakes with it...

So would I just pick a...

I-601 Lawyer recommendation?

Hi all,
We're anticipating doing an I-601 after the visa interview. From what I've read we have a good chance of getting the waiver, but I feel ill-equipped to go that far without help. Can we...

Re: Medical - Diabetes

Listening with great interest... I'm type 1, diagnosed here in UK 14 years ago, and now planning move to Missouri. This wouldn't be happening without recent reforms, so I'm very appreciative. I...

I grew up in NH, and as a child there was not at all aware of costs.... But, we lived very comfortably, and we never had air conditioning in our house, nor did I ever know anyone who did. It's...

I am the USC, am I immigrating?

This is a stupid question I can tell already, but when the visa application asks my husband (UKC) if his spouse (me, the USC) is immigrating with him, does he tick yes, or no? I am feeling muddled...

Re: NVC Visa application form confusion

I'm very new to this and hesitate to say anything that might sound like advice, but I had the same confusion just over a week ago (am at a similar stage, CR1, LND number). But it seems to have been...

Re: Where to Begin?

I didn't know US citizen children needed to enter with their US passports. Mine have travelled for visits on their Uk passports for the last few years, but when we travel over for the move they need...

Re: Going through NVC, filed I-864, what now?

Thanks, Ian. Sometimes the NVC has used AOS to mean Affidavit of Support in my communications with them, but sorry, it does seem like a bad idea when it also means "adjustment of status". I meant I...
