Re: Container coming from UK to Canada -pulled by US customs?!

I don't believe it:
The container failed to update as having been loaded on Saturday, so yesterday I phoned and emailed Hapag-Lloyd.
No replies, but now when I track the container it says it's...

Re: Container coming from UK to Canada -pulled by US customs?!

Former Lancastrian, like Rivingtonpike said, "It just suited our circumstances."
We decided to travel around the UK for a few weeks, saying our goodbyes to friends etc. We're now staying with my...

Re: Container coming from UK to Canada -pulled by US customs?!

This whole shipping process has been a fiasco.
A week before I was set to move, GB Liners called to say they had decided not to accept the fact I was insuring with Letton Percival. After some...

Re: Container coming from UK to Canada -pulled by US customs?!

It just gets worse!
When my goods left the UK, they were scheduled to arrive in Vancouver on Friday the 26th.
Now, due to a trucker shortage in LA, apparently, my container didn't get moved after...

Re: Container coming from UK to Canada -pulled by US customs?!

Hi Juggernaut,
It's just household goods -furniture, clothes, kitchen stuff...
We've paid $350 CAD for the inspection and "admin fee" as it seemed there was no other way.
Rivingtonpike, we went...

Container coming from UK to Canada -pulled by US customs?!

Hello All,

I've had a bit of further frustration with my shipping: I got an email Friday morning to say that US customs had put a "7H NII" hold on my container.

It's currently heading into LA,...

Re: Shipping to Canada -GB Liners Container with Letton Percival Insurance

Thanks for the replies.
We've sorted out that GB will accept us using LP's insurance. As was agreed a month ago.
Hopefully all will go well now but I'll update from the other side.

Re: Shipping to Canada -GB Liners Container with Letton Percival Insurance

Thanks for the reply, Withabix,

This is the response I got from LP after forwarding them the email from GBL:

"G B Liners do not take any of the risk, therefore what they are asking for will...

Re: Shipping to Canada -GB Liners Container with Letton Percival Insurance

A bit of extra info for our specific situation:

We're packing our own boxes and only having GBL's guys wrap the furniture and load the container (20' sole use). In Vancouver we'll then rent a...

Hello All,

With 10 days to go now until our stuff's loaded into a container and sent on its way, I've just received an email (yes, on a Sunday) from GB Liners asking for our insurance provider to...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I think the postie "signed"

To give them a break, it was in the porch/vestibule so not actually visible to the street. Maybe they think they're doing us a favour and saving a trip to...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Thanks.

Good ol' Royal Mail just left the envelope with COPR on the doorstep for us to find when we got home this evening. Even though it says "Signed for" and no one signed. Oh well. We have it...

Re: Shipping to Canada before PR approval

Thanks for the link. Nothing we own is individually worth that much so we'll be ok. Really expecting the PR well before then but was curious anyway.

We've...

That's kinda what I was...
