Thank you for this....I have looked at nanimo and further north but have not considered the cowichan area. I will do some more research. What I have seen so far makes me think the southern areas...

Good question. I suppose because we have lived in a larger city we have got used to that kind of living, (restaurants, movie theatres, etc) we do live on the furthest outskirts of the city now, so...

We are living in Calgary and have just retired. The winters are getting us down and we are considering moving to Vancouver island. Can anyone recommend the best place to live.

We have lived in Calgary for over thirty years, brought up our children here and have always enjoyed living here. I hope you enjoy your experience as much.

I'm not exactly a new expat but I am new to this forum (or any forum come to that)
I've lived in Canada for nearly 35 years and love it here.
