My dad was a captain on it in for about ten years in the 70's and he bitched about it all the time. And all his friends hated it too- I remember him calling it "Micky Mouse", thats why I said it

I'll tell ya a story about the DC-10, one crashed in Souix City Iowa and I knew one of the pilots. The plane lost all hydraulics, you need those to control the aircraft and unlike the 747 the DC -10...

The aircraft was a real piece of crap with Micky Mouse safety systems.. In my humble opinion. Nobody who flew it, liked it.

It's different at a hub- It would be hard to out source because people don't show up on bad weather days for $11 and hour. The high turnover, poor service and undependability results in lost revenues...

As a union official I didn't actually work many of the jobs. I started out as a fueler and in my first six months I called in sick about 15 times and they were going to fire me. I had a young child...

Nobody who flew them loved them, they had no power...I remember taking off at Ohare fully bulked out with cargo, and I waited for the train to go by off the end of the runway because I was worried...

I've organized over 10,000 airline workers.. (And I get a dime a month from each one) thats 10,000 people that went from $7 to 10 an hour with no benefits to $25 with paid health, sick and vacation...

OMG...5 fire trucks where on the runway with us, the plane was towed into a hanger and probably out of service for a week- Everybody was notified- We jumped in another plane and left...
