Re: Scrap a UK in Italy

Just wanted to share something which made me jump when I heard it.

Re: Scrap a UK in Italy

Hi all,

I feel I open a proverbial 'can of worms'. I was desperately trying to keep away from the 'theory' of driving a UK car in Europe, as it is like discussing 'case law', you never get an...

Re: Scrap a UK in Italy

Ononno,

Yes I would have done as you suggested but I might well go back to the UK in the near future and I want no hassle...I like the saying about 'micilli', but as De Niro said in one of his...

Re: Scrap a UK in Italy

Hi Guys,

and thank you all for your comments.

I have just called the DVLA and told me that the part of the slip to complete is actually section 9 (not section 11 - export). This is because the...

Scrap a UK in Italy

Hi all,
I have just scrapped my UK car in Italy. As it was off the road for a while, I did not renew its tax disc (the expiry date of the tax disc was Feb 2014) but neither did I SORN it. What...

Re: Moving to Milan after 10 years in London

Hello,
I am personally no longer involved with the expat life in Milan as I travel quite a bit for my work.
My best advice is to join InterNations and you'll soon have the opportunity to meet up...

Re: Moving to Milan after 10 years in London

Yes, I agree that the Scuola Europea has a good reputation but I would not advise Varese. It's VERY provincial with hardly any decent services. If you must commute, I'd sooner go to Bergamo or Como...

Re: Sweden as a destination for Sabbatical Break

Re: Sweden as a destination for Sabbatical Break

Sweden as a destination for Sabbatical Break

Hi all,

I have been at a point of my life when I 'shut a few doors' behind me and have achieved quite a lot in the last few years and now I feel I deserve a little sabbatical period. I visited...

Re: Moving to Milan after 10 years in London

Hi ItaLondon,
I know Milan fairly well and I live near there. It's probably the least Italian of the Italian big cities but it's not bad. It all depends what you are after and what you are used to...

Re: What would you suggest for living: Italy or UK?

As I said in my earlier posts, the UK is more career-orientated that Italy so you will always have to keep up with the pace of society in terms of seeking better jobs, better house, better car better...
