Hi. I am moving to ny with hub n three kids. He will be on h1b visa.

Pulaski. You are right. And of course education is a priority. I was in favour of putting her in an IB or British school education so that all our moves would be more seem less as the American system...

The diversity is there in the city like you pointed
out. But the neighbourhoods are seggregated in ny. In London it's much more integrated.

I meant more racially and religiously seggregated. My concern is that I put my daughter in a school where the majority of children from a certain affiliation are a clan and are not welcoming....

Thanks all. Speedwell I know what you mean. In London most of the nanny hire isn't kosher either to be honest. Neither are the cleaning ladies.

Trulia map actually colours the district when u click on the school to see if the property advertised falls within it. But of course after getting there we will have a relocation consultant etc.

Ok rye country day school is already full and not accepting applications. It might not be a matter of choice. But simply is there ANY space. Can ten state schools decline you?

Yeah I was looking at that just now. My issue is admissions. Apparently waiting lists for the private schools.
The only non sectarian elementary private schools I could find reviews on are ...

Ok. Gonna look at river dale. I remember only finding flats there not houses. Will do another search. Private schools are no probs.

Wow. Ok. I'm not Jewish and really want to avoid any non diverse area. Even the school I need to be non sectarian. Thanks for the tip. I remember when we lived in Ithaca for six months noticing there...

Heard the crime rates are quite bad in the Bronx ? Will look in to spuyten duyvel and river dale. But safety is very portent too.

My husband wants a ten min commute in to gct in manhattan. Which in not gonna happen. Manhattan with practically 3 babies noo! He refuses to live in ct or nj even being difficult about westchester....

Most of the houses I can find in bronxville on trulia seem to have a Yonkers school district with bad schools. Haven't quite got my head round how the school districts are divided exactly

Awe my wonderful big screen tv .....no hope for it? Will have to donate it to some charity or something. Probably won't get much for selling it. Need a garage sale before we go
