Yeah for 2 months getting the car from LAX its $3600 total price, I've got this one with hertz and thats the best they can do. Thats returning it to LAX so not ideal, returning it in Canada is either...

Yeah that would be the plan but we don't have a permanent address. With used cars why do people sell it and in the description give you the dates when that tags are good until? So to get it right,...

I won't be driving a car that's not road legal, that's just a bad idea. I can understand having to have an address though.

Right ok I understand it now. So if you don't have an address here then you can't buy a car and drive it around? I'd have thought there must be a way to do that.

Thanks Heading_baltimore. I don't have an I-94, I was reading and I wasn't sure if it was available to print out if you were travelling on an approved esta? It maybe is and I'll try and look it up...

Yeah Bob it was thought of, I don't mind renting but when I saw a few cheap cars I started to think that it may be a cheaper option but if you can't insure it then I'll just go down the insurance...

Yeah thanks for the reply,

I'll check out the best deal I can get but its pretty expensive and we want to do route 66 and into Canada to see family before we return to the UK, not sure of rental...
