Re: Newby

I think the new rules you are referring to are about the issue of the S1 by the UK. This has nothing to do with acceptance by the French Health Service. It is about not having initial cover for up...

Re: S1 Changes? Anyone heard of this?

I am an early retiree. I don't know if they have changed their process but when I got mine in Nov 2010 it was valid until Jan 2013 after which I applied to join the CMU-B and was accepted.

Re: Declaring UK bank accounts to the French Tax Office ?

Munosy, it was on one of the motorcycle forums at the beginning of last year. I can't remember the exact details but although he was originally fined the full 1500 euros, he appealed and because...

Re: Declaring UK bank accounts to the French Tax Office ?

There is a form you can download (Form 3916) from the impots.fr site. We declared the accounts we had in the UK (it doesn't ask for the amounts in them.) then ticked box 8UU on the 2047. When we...

simon2, I would advise you to get the certificate from DVLA. It only costs £5 and they will send it straight away. With most things in France you are better off giving them the papers they need...

Re: DVLA LICENCE LOST: UK > French ?

It's not the same in France and only those who have HGV and PSV need to have a medical. In fact at the present time the licence is for life and unlike the UK doesn't need to be renewed at age 70. I...

Re: DVLA LICENCE LOST: UK > French ?

I think you will find you don't have to be in too much of a rush to get the new licence. The following is the wording of the directive:

The directive stipulates that members states should adopt...

The number to ring at DVLA is 01792 782341

They will send you a certificate confirming the groups you are entitled to, you will then be able to obtain a French licence.
