Got my bank statement printed off 2day for proof of funds from hsbc. Its pretty much a blank piece of paper that could be typed up by anyone. It doesnt even have HSBC on it just "Temporary statement"...

Leavin in 3 weeks? In the same boat here. The biggest thing bugging me atm is what to take.

hmm, so looks like converting it over there is the only way then, or convert anything that you have at a tasty rate that isnt the C$2500 that you need in the bank for the border peeps.

Anyone sorted out their travel insurance and paid around 150 quid for it? Cant seem to get a quote lower than around 250 at the moment, which seems a lil steep...

No one will know as of yet until information start filtering through of people who were rejected, given that message on their website saying they are going to be strict from now on though....

I'm a little concerned that as the next round is only 4 days away there is a chance that the IEC might end up rejecting the applications with mistakes in AFTER round 2 opens. That could really screw...

Can't believe I didn't put my full name. Talk about falling at the first hurdle.

Just reread the application form too- "Full name (as shown in your passport to be submitted with the application).

I managed to spell my first name wrong! From what i've read on other forums they are lenient with minor errors like this, although you should login to your Kompass account and send them a message...

How strict are they on the spelling of your name? I shortened my name in the application and my passport has my full first name, will that matter?
E.g putting Rob smith instead of Robert smith

Same for health insurance? Dunno how long that takes to sort out but I imagine its alright to get it sorted once you have your visa place reserved
