Re: Notary and moving stuff

Ha, well I hope you get the same standard of local news as well, "breaking news : duck makes friends with cat" etc. I'm from the fens so I love a good slow news day story! You've got enough sheep...

Re: Notary and moving stuff

Persephone, that is a very good question, hubby said a notary but maybe that's not for everything. Will steal the documents from him at the weekend and check :-)

Re: Notary and moving stuff

Lol, fair point, I appear to be suffering from pre-immigration optimism!! Still not sure it's worth shipping though as we're mainly talking about books, DVDs, bedding, crockery, pans, cushions etc....

Re: Notary and moving stuff

Hmm I wonder if I can find any solicitors I can bribe with cakes lol! It's crazy how much all the bits and pieces cost, I'm still recovering from us paying the best part of £900 to turn up on an...

Re: Where can we commute from? (Wellington)

Ah that's such a kind offer and definitely one I will take you up on! Medical results came back clear from panel dr today, so just got to send the paperwork off and hope for a quick turnaround!

Re: Where can we commute from? (Wellington)

Loads more useful information to think about. Hubby would be driving to work so it looks like kapiti is definitely an option, but with the slight drawback of a longer commute for us both. I think...

Re: Where can we commute from? (Wellington)

Thanks MOSO, loads of information there! We'll be renting for about six months before we buy, so no dramas if we end up in slightly the wrong place. I actually get a bit car sick in the UK so that...

Will have a look at Petone!

We're coming over on permenant skilled migrants visas. We've both accepted jobs and have all the paperwork ready apart from medicals (we had to wait weeks to get an...

Re: Where can we commute from? (Wellington)

Hi everybody,

Thanks so much for all the really helpful advice! The commute from the Kapiti area doesn't look as bad as it did on the map (nothing like a bit of local knowledge!) so it's back on...

Re: Where can we commute from? (Wellington)

Thanks MrsFychan, we started off looking at Kapiti but weren't sure if we would have crazy commutes. May well have to reinstate it on the research list for having good weather though! I can take or...

Re: Where can we commute from? (Wellington)

Hi! Wow that is one extremely nice view :-) I am very attracted to the whole decking/view scenario and seem to have this idea in my head that I'll spend all my time sitting in the sun drinking wine....
