Hi,

Housing compounds are a better choice. Both Al Fardan and Les Roses are excellent compounds with good facilities.

It's about 5 to 10 minute drive. They are complete from the outside; I'm not sure about the inside furnishings. They should be ready by November I think. I took some pictures (see attached).

It's not a matter if choice when it comes to school but rather which one has availability. Please contact all potential schools in advance to inquire about seats for your children.

I would recommend iTrip and iTraffic for iPhone. Also, Google Maps app is pretty reliable as well.

I would recommend you to take the direct flight without any layovers when flying with small children. The travel time is only couple of hours so Class of service will have a minimal impact.
