Re: IT jobs on TWP needing LMO from Oct

Ok, think it must have been a fairly recent thing since I'm sure it wasn't on the CIC site in April.

Re: BUNAC Visa not a route to PR?

I will say this again in big letters so you have a chance to follow and not have to make baseless accusations:

I NEVER COMPLAINED THAT IT WASN'T GUARANTEED, BUT THAT YOU COULDN'T USE THE BUNAC...

Re: BUNAC Visa not a route to PR?

You are probably right, but then my job is not on the list of 38, applying for roles from abroad hasn't produced many results and my employer rarely relocates technical staff abroad so it was the...

Re: BUNAC Visa not a route to PR?

Thanks Iain, yes I guess the big advantage is being on the spot and having a local address.

Not sure how much in savings you think I have (a Merc indeed ), but until I find work living in a...

Re: BUNAC Visa not a route to PR?

I didn't read you signature, apologies. But at least the fact it can be done is something positive!

I never said it was easy, what ever is? Keeping a job in the UK has meant commuting 6+...

Re: BUNAC Visa not a route to PR?

I should be clear, I haven't left the UK yet to activate the Bunac Visa, nor do I have arranged employment at this stage, so Lucie's suggestion isn't an option.

My annoyance is really that all...

Re: BUNAC Visa not a route to PR?

Just to reply to all -

It's not marketed as a working holiday visa but:

"Non-student Open Work Authorisation Visa"

which makes it less clear since it's not an open temporary work permit in...

Re: BUNAC Visa not a route to PR?

It's not the nature of your employment that seems to cause the problem but the nature of your visa, so it would seem you have to get a job under Bunac, then get a regular TWP to work for your...

BUNAC Visa not a route to PR?

Hi folks,

I've just found this whilst (see link below) trawling the net for some other info, and it seems the BUNAC Visa is not sufficient to use to then apply for PR. People here have been...

Re: Most successful immigration agents

Yep have gone the non student route (I'm 10 years passed graduation! :)) I had to submit my application by the end of Jan, so it's probably closed for this period, best to check when it reopens. I...

Re: Most successful immigration agents

I've just seen your age, you'd be able to go the Bunac/TWP route and then try to get your employer to supply the appropriate letter when applying for PR in Canada.

This is what I'm trying, I'm in...

Re: Look we have a brand new antique tractor :(

Something very righteous about getting an old vehicle, fixing it up and making it earn it's keep again.

Re: Driving in Canada

Spent a month driving in Canada in 2009, and it was pretty easy to adjust. Agree with the idea of getting a SatNav though, it was a god-send for me.

Do learn how the traffic lights work in...

Re: XBOX 360

Wolstie, take a look at the bottom of the power pack, it should tell you if it's both 110V and 240V compatible (IIRC it is) so all you need to do is swap the the lead with a plug on. Xbox needs less...

Re: don't laugh, but can you get hamsters in Canada?

Can't see that as a drawback, amortised that's less than two dollars a year, plus with such a long life span the residuals will be fantastic! ;)

Re: help with bunac insurance

Good thread! I hadn't checked this out yet, but that Bunac price is extremely steep. Any money I can save right now is going to be needed when I get there! :)

To the OP, how long did you...
