I got the targetted email - so I will press the panic button tonight and call them. I'll let you know how it goes. My experience of US phone lines is that they do my head in - am not looking forward...

Re: Business Class Airfares to UK / Europe - approx $2700 - $2800 rtn!

I noticed the availability with Lifemiles seemed to be pretty good, and I may look at it again.

With the AA deal, we are looking at one way business and return cattle, which for $1800 is a good...

Re: House prices

So much to counter in your post;
1. Regional town unemployment is lower there than the cities.
2. Historically property has always been about cost, value and re sale.
3. The reason its partially...

Re: House prices

I'd agree with that, however, not everyone is negatively geared, or believes in that. I'm not. I try to cover my costs and then pay down. It works for me and I think I'd rather do that than rely on...

Re: House prices

The point was to counter what was being said at the start of the thread, which was all doom and gloom for property. I do not think it is if you look around. The other point I was trying to make is...

Thumbs up Re: Business Class Airfares to UK / Europe - approx $2700 - $2800 rtn!

Thanks for your answer BC. Funny, on the US Airways site it seems I can gift 50,000 miles for $500. I only joined a few days ago, and haven't received the February offer, but this is all looking very...

Re: PR for the over 50s

Have you thought about looking at NZ? the rules are a bit easier. Maybe if your employer has an office there, you could work out of that office?

Or, do you have family here that could sponsor you?...

Re: House prices

The ONLY thing I think I have done well at in Aus in my twelve years here is property.

I came here with $12000 - my life savings - and since then haven't looked back even though I don't actually...

Re: Business Class Airfares to UK / Europe - approx $2700 - $2800 rtn!

Hi, I've been reading all of this with interest. I have a couple of questions:

1. Can you only have one person gift you airmiles or can you get several friends to sign up and gift them to you? ...

Re: Thinking of leaving australia...again. Ping Pomtastic

Well written comment, Dave 99. I can totally understand. Been here 12 years as follows:
1. Melbourne, 18 months - hated it.
2. Kalgoorlie, 1 year - loved it.
3. Sydney, 7 years - a succession of...
