Re: IEC 2013

Has anyone had much success in getting an application sped up due to their work permit expiring while they're in Canada on their first year on the IEC?

My current permit expires in two weeks and...

Re: IEC 2013

Can anyone confirm or deny that even if I've been in Canada for the last year on my first IEC work permit, that I'll still need a UK police check and not a Canadian one?

Re: IEC 2013

OK, I'll have to organise getting one from back home then...seems a bit silly seeing as I haven't been in England for 11 months.

But we all know what the CIC are like.

Re: IEC 2013

Hey guys, does anyone know if I'd need a Canadian police check or a British one, since I've been in Canada already for the last year?

Re: Can you get a work permit while applying for Spousal PR?

Thanks very much.

I'm still banking on getting my second year on the IEC...fingers and toes are crossed.

Can you get a work permit while applying for Spousal PR?

Title asks the question, I'll provide some context...

I'm a 25 year old former British Army combat medic now in Canada on the first year of my IEC work permit. It's expiring in late April and me...

Re: IEC 2013

Anyone here who's reapplying after their first year had to have second copies of RMP record checks and chest x-rays/medicals?

Re: International Experience Canada

The worrying thing is how long the lapse between people's work permits will be...1 week, fine...2 weeks, not too bad if you have savings...a month, you're pushing it...so on and so on.

I get...

Re: International Experience Canada

Just got this auto-response from the IEC team, no reply to specific questions about RMP certificates or chest x-rays due to travelling to tuberculosis riddled hell-holes...

Sir/Madam,

Re: Police Certificate HARD to obtain

Yeah, I'd obviously ask when the time came round, but honestly, I seriously doubt you'd need one. I'm assuming you're in B*****n, so I doubt you'd have had much interaction with the local population...

Re: Police Certificate HARD to obtain

Are you a civilian contractor? I was deployed on Herrick 13, and didn't have to get an Afghan police certificate...maybe it's because we were training them, haha (jk).

Re: International Experience Canada

OK, thanks for the info. I'll take my common-law questions to the appropriate thread, where I imagine they've already been asked and answered by someone else!

Re: International Experience Canada

Hey guys, first post. Please be gentle.

I'm on my first year in the IEC programme, my work permit expires in late April. Obviously we're all a little nervous as the 2013 Initiative hasn't opened...
