Oddly enough, I didn't actually find that when googling. I noticed a few websites stating that if you're on a J1, you have to have a job offer before you can apply for a social security number/card....

A simple question: Will a disability (say someone who is partially sighted) stop/hinder someone from obtaining a work (H1B/J1) visa?

I am unsure of how common sponsorship is for your line of work, however as you do not mention a degree anywhere, I'm assuming you do not have one, in which case, you'll need at least 12 years work...

The new immigration reform bill proposed by the gang of 8 is said to bring in thousands of 'unskilled/low skilled' immigrants, so that may not be the case for long, all-be-it the jobs are supposedly...
