Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

I'm in the West, and I, like many converts have turned away from Christianity as I've found it flawed and insufficient. I've turned towards Islam; this is despite all the propoganda about 9/11 and...

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

No, not at all britexpat. There have been many questions--yours being one amongst them--and I hoped that you would have at least given the book a read to get your questions answered. Anyhow, Islam is...

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

By referring to the above book as the work of Anderson, a writer of fantasy, aren't you then contradicting yourself by saying Marx taught you to understand others without "pre-conceived ideas"? Your...

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

Your statements reveal that you have rejected Islam while knowing so very little about it. I'm very confident you have never heard of the Prophet's hadeeth about "tying your camel", which basically...

[QUOTE=Kix;10571647]Erm, surely an atheist doesn't have any beliefs. that's the point!

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

Judging a book by the cover are you? Strange, you never struck me as one who was too timid or closed minded to challenge your own beliefs. Afraid of the seed of truth that might be planted, perhaps?...

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

As said, these discussions tend to be perpetual. Have a read of the tiny booklet below. It will answer many of your questions. At the very least, skim through the table of contents. The book talks...

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

Really? Are you of the dense ones that profess intelligence but prove to be not much than an imbecile? Surely ideas and speculations get thrown around throughout the ages. But what book has been...

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

On the contrary, I suspect that you are rather dense. I pointed out how the Quran describes in detail the creation of the universe and humans, yet you say that that has no relevance to real world....

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

Allah says Himself that He revealed the Quran in Arabic due to its richness, and expressiveness. Though Islam is the fastest growing religion, the success of a prophet isn't measured by the number of...

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

You accuse me of a lack of knowledge yet you've presented no counter explanation. Enlighten us then of the true course of the development. Indeed, the stages outlined are agreed upon by scientists....

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

They are the closest to Islam in belief. Why do you attempt to detract the discussion from the current course? Have you a worthy response to the evidence presented, recruiter?

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

It's okay, Shiva, I understand that that is the best response you can muster in light of the knowledge presented in the Quran. You dare not address the knowledge it has outlined.

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

Kix,

Please have a read of my posting (I know it is quite lengthy). In it I mentioned that the Quran speaks of the Big Bang. Check out the last paragraph at least. Thanks.

Re: Anyone on here converted (embraced) Islam?

Interesting thread. I usually avoid these online debates as they tend to be perpetual. I haven’t been able to resist the temptation to proffer my own views on this one, however. I must say that I am...

Re: What percentage of your salary do you spend on rent?

Simple: Salary = Amount paid for rent/% paid on housing.

So for Millhouse, that is 100*175K/28 = 607p/a. And no one makes more than Millhouse, thus, no one makes more than GBP 103K p/a.

Which one is safest?

I've read the horror stories of how dangerous driving in the Middle East can be; so what type of vehicle is the safest: sedan, truck, van or suv? And which brand do you recommend?

So after giving them the news, would you say that it is unlikely that I could ever be rehired by this company?

Re: Rejecting an offer after initially accepting it...

The pay is pretty good. They plan to stick it out until the contract is up then they'll quit.
