Monaco is not part of the EU so you need a work permit issued by the Monaco Government, it can be a hassle, you need a medical, health insurance and can be rejected if you have a criminal record.

I'd seriously advise going to look at the place first before committing, although the distances may not look far on a map you may find it's halfway up a mountain with no direct road!

As mentioned, we haven't spent the winter in Menton yet, a workmate described it like:

Basic French is fine to get by, but to hold a decent conversation...

Thanks The Guy for the info, I'd read up some forums and decided to buy a (decent sized) dish and get it pointed at 28.2E. the missus is bringing a Freesat box with her from the Uk :-)
