Yes, if I lived off savings I assume I would not need to fill in a tax return.


It comes back to how much capital is deemed "significant".

If I managed to get past the initial 5 years and was not working or receiving a pension I would be living off the proceeds from the sale of my property....

If I managed to sell my UK property I would have the Solicitors letter saying how much it sold for and I did plan on keeping half in a UK bank and bringing the other...

Good points, I do not know if there will still be a state pension by 2034 or if it will be means tested, time will tell.

UK pension entitlement

Hello all.


I am British and currently live in the UK.


If I move to Spain permanently will I still be entitled to a state pension when I reach retirement age, that will be roughly 2034.

I did not realise electric, water and telephone bills are delivered directly by the companies.

I was thinking I would open a bank account in the UK with HSBC and then in Manila...

Electricity cost does seem high, I pay on average here in the uk 1365 Peso a month, electric cooker, shower and PC on 24/7.

I would definitely want air con in the condo and I expect they are built...
