I submitted my application in October 2019. they started processing in Jan 2020...still nothing? Is this just a normal COVID side effect?

Thank very much, just had a proper read over this now. I am the worlds worst procrastinator when it comes to stuff like this.

So really for the 2014 year I will just report the Canadian T4 income...

Hi Everyone,

I am super late with my taxes and only doing 2014's now. I am trying to use the CRA "determining your residency status" tool on their website, but the terms are pretty interchangeable...

Never claimed any foreign tax credit so it shouldn't be too complex. I am assume HMRC can provide me this information, but guessing it will also take a significant period of...

Yes! This is what I was suspecting.

I was a resident from January - September 2013 so maybe I dont technically qualify? Seems a shame as there was a lot of rent paid between that time...but to be...

I'm in Canada at the moment, actually.

I did two IEC viss Aug 2011-Feb 2012.

Aug 2012-sep 2013.

PR and landed since Sep 2014 - so ive had a complicated journey (as it seems most have!)

I've found the Trillium benefit form on the CRA website - but its not part of the Turbo tax return?

Im not sure if its not showing up because of something I have selected or if i should just print...

Yeah I read that from a tax forum but when Im using Turbo tax I cant see where it would go under the trillium benefit - im pretty close to just filing without claiming rent so its out of...

Yeah I was on an IEC visa at the time!

I cannot remember what I had for my 2012 status, sorry :(!

Yes, I was living in Ontario - sorry, forgot to include that.

It was definitely deductible on 2012's return but its been renamed from what I can discern from Tax forums!

Cheers Mark! Ive got work on Monday and flying Sunday night so have to rule out that option!

If things go wrong I'll resort to hoisting my UK passport in the air and claim to own Canada.
