Re: Citizenship Application Timeline
Hi All,
The granting of citizenship timeline is now at up to 12 months according to the website, no thanks to COVID-19. What has been the experience of others during this pandemic? Has anyone been fortunate enough to receive citizenship far sooner than 12 months, or alternatively, and unfortunately, far later than 12 months?
Many thanks.

Re: Citizenship Application Timeline
There was complete stop of processing last summer well onto fall. They had no citizenship testing at that time.
Now citizenship testing is online.
Ceremony is virtual.
Technically, they should be able to meet 12 month deadline, if they put additional resources to clear backlog.
I am not sure except for the department, other people can answer this question correctly.

Re: Citizenship Application Timeline
By the way my citizenship shows "Decision Made" and person told me that it is granted a week ago.
But I am yet to receive letter for Oath Ceremony. I cleared my test on March 14th, 2021.
App: Dec 1, 2019, AOR: Feb, 2020, big gap..., Test cleared: March 14, 2021....Oath: waiting

Passed test on Feb 19th and absolutely nothing since. I’m seeing people after us doing their oath but it’s like we’ve been forgotten. So far 15 months since AOR. 19 months since we first applied!

3 year anniversary in Canada this weekend, so thinking about applying. However, we spent more than 183 days in the UK between validating PR and arriving in Canada. I think I will wait until 5 year anniversary in Canada in 2023 before applying, as I suspect the backlog will take time to clear. No plans on going anywhere outside Of Canada for awhile!

if they just did things in a logical order I’d be happy to wait.

Re: Citizenship Application Timeline
Finally got an logical email response for my rescheduled citizenship test back in August 2019. Since asking for a new date my app fell into the a blackhole then covid struck CIC. But only after 50/60 emais to the "Webform" have they actually got the Toronto office to get in touch that I'm now in processing to get virtual e test. A reply after 33 months is an absolute joke

Re: Citizenship Application Timeline
AOR Dec 2018 !, Citizenship Test Passed March 2019.................still waiting
I had to provide some Supplementary Evidence to satisfy the Physical Presence stipulations
which proved tricky due to me not keeping all my flight inventories and boarding passes ect.
NOTE TO ANYONE APPLYING, SCRUPULOUSLY KEEP ALL YOUR TRAVEL INVENTORIES
I did my best to track everything down which also involved the UK Home Office SARU. All of this evidence
was then posted back to cic in Feb 2020, (as they only requested it in Oct 2019) since which time there have been no updates on my status.
I have contacted through the webform the helpdesk, and have been assured it is still in progress and they have
everything they need right now. I have just never heard of such a long wait and was wondering if I am missing
something or if anyone could offer any advice for me. I'm in Saskatchewan. Please and Thankyou

Re: Citizenship Application Timeline
I appreciate the info DandNHill, I will check out the pages you mention. From talking with various immigrants
who have gone through the process, I haven't heard of such long delays so was feeling a bit paranoid. Will maybe
lesson this feeling by reading of similar stories. Thanks again

Re: Citizenship Application Timeline
I applied August 31st 2020 and AOR December 7th 2020. Nothing since. My good friend applied a day before or after me and received his AOR also within a day of mine. He was invited last week to take his citizienship test online and passed (yay!) Hoping I hear soon about at least getting able to take the test seeing as they are online.

Re: Citizenship Application Timeline
Applied March 2020 - received email last week with instructions on how to log in to check application status - information says invite for citizenship test to be sent April 2021......nothing received. Other checks are still in progress...who knows what's going on.
