I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago, and I took the plunge!
I moved to the south of Spain with no job, leaving a really good position and a career behind in London.

You should have a button to change the display output on your laptop. Usually "FN" next to control and the "F5" key on the funcion keys role on the top of your keyboard.
