Thanks a lot. There is many EU countries that demand that you must register in 7 or 15 days, but in practice nobody does it for a holiday and nobody demands it either.

I thought I needed the residence to sign the 12 months rental contract, not the other way round. So first you have to get your rental contract, and then the residence?

Do they use butane bottles for gas in italy? if they do maybe it is a cheaper solution. I know by experience that changing the name of the bills can be very expensive, and then there is the problem...

Thanks for the fast reply, that seems reasonable. I'll try to arrange that or something similar, as changing the names seems quite expensive and not worth it for one year.
